With its innovative format, quick implementation, strong participation and engagement from Generali’s staff and agents, as well as valuable trust from the public, the programme has allowed Generali Vietnam to contribute a total amount of VND1.5 billion ($65,220) to support the COVID-19 emergency fund in Vietnam.
Specifically, Generali Vietnam provided, via the National Fund for Vietnamese Children (NFVC), VND500 million ($21,740) worth of financial support to 500 underprivileged children and their families being treated and taken care of in COVID-19 quarantine facilities in the provinces of Dien Bien, Bac Giang, and Bac Ninh.
The company also donated VND1 billion ($43,480) to the Vietnamese government’s vaccine fund. In addition, the company is committed to sponsoring vaccination for all of its employees. Funding for these activities comes from the company’s direct contribution and donations made by its staff, agents, and the community.

The fundraising initiative “Stepping across Vietnam – Spreading the wings of love” was promptly run in 10 days (June 7-16, 2021), with enthusiastic participation from many Generali Vietnam staff and agent volunteers.
Each volunteer pledged a minimum of 35,000 footsteps and rallied their friends and families to "encourage" them by donating to Vietnam’s COVID-19 emergency fund.
“Stepping across Vietnam – Spreading the wings of love” is part of the global movement The Human Safety Net (THSN)’s THSN Global Challenge 2021 which gathered about 4,000 volunteers from 23 THSN countries to support vulnerable families and individuals in the communities.

"This innovative initiative has allowed us to concurrently achieve three goals: Timely supporting the national COVID-19 fight, encouraging our people to exercise and improve their health during the pandemic, and engaging our staff and agents during social distancing,” said Tina Nguyen, Generali Vietnam CEO. “I am very pleased and touched to see the programme have such an extensive have thanks to our people’s unity, creativity, their loving hearts, sharing spirit, and especially the valuable public trust in Generali Vietnam. The programme vividly demonstrates our desire and commitment to become a ‘Lifetime Partner’ to Vietnamese families all across the country.”
Hoang Van Tien, director of the NFVC, said: “We are really impressed with Generali’s innovative, quick, and effective approach to contributing to social welfare, especially with this fundraising initiative where it has joined hands with the NFVC to support vulnerable children affected by the pandemic. This is a meaningful and impactful initiative in the National Action Month for Children."
“The initiative, together with other programmes that we have been partnering with Generali Vietnam to implement, most notably the community education programme 'Sinh Con, Sinh Cha', has demonstrated Generali’s commitment and dedication to the protection, care, and development of Vietnamese children.”
Since the beginning of 2020, Generali Vietnam has implemented various initiatives to support COVID-19 response such as providing high-quality medical protective suits to Vietnam’s National Hospital for Tropical Diseases and Ho Chi Minh City Hospital for Tropical Diseases, syringe pumps to Danang Hospital, offering special financial support for staff, agents, and customers infected with COVID-19, and supporting the community music project “Vietnam! Fight off COVID-19!” sponsored by Vietnam’s Ministry of Health.
Also in 2020, Generali Group created an Extraordinary International Fund of up to €100 million ($119 million) dedicated to the fight against COVID-19 on an international level, in Italy and 50 countries where Generali operates.
