In addition, BAC A BANK and TH Group, via the Vietnamese Stature Foundation have also given the community assorted drinks, medical equipment, and two high-frequency ventilators which support urgent treatment, with a total value of VND76 billion ($3.3 million) to fight the pandemic.
BAC A BANK, TH Group, and the Vietnamese Stature Foundation have been accompanying the government in the fight against COVID-19
The three units’ activities assist the government’s great efforts to curb the pandemic.
According to the Ministry of Health (MoH), Vietnam needs 150 million doses of vaccines to administer about 75 per cent of its population this year, with a total cost amounting to VND25 trillion ($1.09 billion).
Of which the central budget can offer VND16 trillion ($695.65 million) and the rest will have to come from the localities, the society, and the business community via the COVID-19 Vaccine Fund managed by the Ministry of Finance.
Currently, only about 1 per cent of the country’s population has been vaccinated.
MoH Minister Nguyen Thanh Long said that Vietnam has ordered a total of 130 million vaccine doses from foreign pharmaceutical groups, and with the domestically-produced vaccine, it is expected that all Vietnamese people will be vaccinated this year. This process will need strong support from the whole people and society, and the business community.
At the launching ceremony of the COVID-19 Vaccine Fund, hundreds of enterprises like BAC A BANK and TH Group have demonstrated their social responsibility via their donations.Tran Thi Nhu Trang, director of the Vietnamese Stature Foundation, said, “We do believe and highly appreciate the government’s great efforts in fighting against the COVID-19 pandemic and maintaining production and business activities in order to spur on the national economic development.
