Thai Nguyen pushes IT creativity |
After more than 18 months of deploying Thai Nguyen Party Committee’s specific resolutions on digital transformation, the province has posted inspiring achievements in the areas of digital government, economy, and society.
The Thai Nguyen Intelligence Operation Centre (IOC), the provision of online level 4 admin procedures through the province’s public services portal, and the broad deployment of applications such as C-Thai Nguyen and Thai Nguyen ID are just some of the results reached this far.
Based on these outcomes, Thai Nguyen ranked 12 out of 63 localities nationwide in 2021’s digital transformation tally. Meanwhile, in terms of digital government progress, the province came out third.
These results were presented by Secretary of Thai Nguyen Party Committee Nguyen Thanh Hai at a recent working session with Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam. At the session, attendees discussed the implementation of the scheme on the deployment of population data applications and electronic authentication and verification systems serving the country’s digital transformation.
Hai asserted that furthering digital transformation is the key to success, helping the province to take some shortcuts in growth and to best avail of opportunities to spur socioeconomic development.
A highlight in building the digital government in Thai Nguyen is the operation of the IOC, with its 11 digital platforms to receive and tackle proposals online through the C-Thai Nguyen app. More than 200,000 accounts have been created so far.
Thai Nguyen is one of a handful of localities that fully provide level 4 administrative procedures online. The system has thus far been processing more than 2.3 million documents, helping to save nearly $350,000 by avoiding the usage of traditional postal services.
Many tech apps and shared digital platforms such as the eCabinet or online meetings have also been contributing to innovating work styles and boosting work efficiency.
E-payments also have become commonplace across public services. The province’s digital transformation journey has secured the participation of many competent businesses, such as Viettel, VNPT, and the SaigonTel-NGS consortium, among others.
Last year, Thai Nguyen Department of Information and Communications and Department of Agriculture and Rural Development teamed up to train over 1,350 production and trading households, open sales accounts for over 650 households, and bring more than 1,000 products onto online platforms.
Digital citizen platforms like C-Thai Nguyen and Thai Nguyen ID have been running smoothly. Empowered by AI and big data, Thai Nguyen ID has created a digital space with high interaction efficiency.
Leaders said these achievements lay the important bedrock for Thai Nguyen to reach the target of carving a spot among the top 15 localities nationwide in digital transformation by 2025. In December 2020, Thai Nguyen Party Committee enacted the resolution on the province’s digital transformation programme, setting the targets for creative and seamless implementation rooted in the digital economy, government, and society. Following this, December 31 is now Thai Nguyen’s Digital Transformation Day.
Innovative administrative reforms such as the application of one-stop-shop mechanisms and the provision of public services via digital platforms have brought comfort to people and businesses.
Buoyed by the open and transparent investment climate, Thai Nguyen has become the place to invest for many leading businesses, including Samsung, Flamingo Holding Group, SaigonTel, DBG Technology, Sunny Opotech Vietnam, FLC Group, and Dongwha Vietnam, to name a few.
