On March 16, Quang Nam People’s Committee held a conference to announce the province's plans for the rest of this decade.
The province awarded investment registration certificates to seven projects by Truong Hai Auto Corporation (THACO), including factories for mechanical electrical refrigeration, car wire harnesses, vehicle glass, auto body parts factory, and car interiors. It also gave the go-ahead for a THACO Industries research and development centre worth more than $12 million.
Quang Nam also granted approval for the expansion and upgrade of Chu Lai wharf inside the Tam Hiep port complex, worth over $63 million. It will be funded by Truong Hai International Logistics.
At the conference, Germany's Karcher Beteiligungs received a registration certificate to build a $20.2 million cleaning equipment factory, while China's Uc Thinh Vietnam Technical Development will develop a $34.5 million super white float glass factory. South Korea's Star Group will also invest $77.7 million in a magnetic magnet initiative.
Certifications were also handed out to Guoguang Electric Co., Ltd. for an audio equipment manufacturing project, US-based PMG Solid for a solid plastic and metal products factory, and China’s Yangzhou Soleseat Smart Seat Co., Ltd. for manufacturing videogame chairs and car seats.
Quang Nam People's Committee also granted agreements on studying investment locations to two investors. Bin Corporation will invest $277 million in the infrastructure of Nam Thang Binh Industrial Park, while WHA Industrial Development will invest in Western Industrial Park in Thang Binh district at a cost of over $141.5 million.
