Happy New Year Fair takes place in Hanoi

The Happy New Year Fair 2023 took place in Hoai Duc district of Hanoi on January 13-15 to create opportunities for domestic and foreign businesses to promote their products and business networking.

Held by the the Hanoi Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Centre (HPA), the event boasted 100 booths with diversification of products from regions and trade villages. There were many additional programmes held during the event, including the Home Hanoi Xuan 2023 and sightseeing and connection activities from overseas Vietnamese participating in the Spring Homeland programme.

Bui Duy Quang, deputy director of the HPA said, “The event aimed to stimulate consumption, stabilise the market, and satisfy shopping needs, and especially create a space for domestic and international visitors to experience the Lunar New Year atmosphere.”

"It opened a series of activities for the Spring Homeland initiative, welcoming nearly 1,000 overseas Vietnamese from all over the world coming home to celebrate Lunar New Year," he added.

The event demonstrated the efforts of the organiser in preserving and promoting traditional festive values and unique national culture; promoting activities to introduce products of traditional craft villages and local specialities; and promoting tourist destinations to visitors.

Hanoi made improvements in its socioeconomic development in 2022 with economic growth of 8.89 per cent. Its export turnover reached $17.1 billion, up 10.3 per cent on-year. The city attracted $1.69 billion worth of foreign investment, up 10.3 per cent from 2021.
