The Hanoi Centre for Investment, Trade, and Tourism Promotion (HPA) on November 23 held a trade promotion programme, connecting food suppliers in the Red River Delta region with exporters.

The full-day event aimed to increase trade connectivity, tap into the full potential and advantages of each locality, and increase regional trade connectivity.

The activity was part of the supporting measures to help businesses solve their difficulties, increase connections between producers and distributors, and introduce outstanding and special products and those with high potential for export international trade promotion agencies, importers, and domestic and international distributors. It was also to implement the national promotion programme in 2022.

The event attracted more than 200 delegates from 54 cities and provinces, business associations, and wholesalers and retailers. Business networking was also held for suppliers, distributors and retailers. They included Winmart, Lotte Mart, Aeon, Central Retail, MM Mega Maket, BRG, BigGreen, and e-commerce platforms.

Representatives from businesses, retailers, and business associations discussed the production process, processing and preservation and consumption of products; solutions and measures to promote trade activities; green production and consumption; measures to reduce plastic waste; and use of environmentally friendly substitutes.

Hoang Minh Chien, deputy director general of the Ministry of Industry and Trade’s Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency, said it was an important trade promotion event, creating favourable conditions for businesses to enhance trade and seek business opportunities.
