A new campaign, “Innovation and Heritage Conservation in the Digital World,” has been launched to make Vietnam’s cultural heritage more accessible to younger generations through digital platforms.

On March 28, the Vietnam Cultural Heritage Conservation Support Fund, the Vietnam Ethnic Culture Department, the Institute of Information and Communication Technology (CDIT), and TikTok Vietnam signed a partnership agreement to promote and preserve Vietnamese cultural heritage in the digital space.

Influential TikTok creators take part in the #DiSanVietNam hashtag challenge campaign

Through this initiative, the parties will work together to make cultural heritage more accessible to younger audiences. The Vietnam Cultural Heritage Conservation Support Fund will work with TikTok to launch the hashtag challenge #DiSanVietNam campaign, encouraging the participation of TikTok creators and the user community to create content related to the country's cultural heritage.

The fund will Coordinate to organise field trips to localities with many unique cultural heritages with the support of many content creators. TikTok will serve as a bridge, encouraging users to leverage technology in creating engaging and dynamic content about heritage.

The campaign organisers aim to generate 200,000 videos and achieve around one billion engagements on TikTok.

Associate Professor, Dr. Do Van Tru, chairman of the Vietnam Cultural Heritage Association and chairman of the Board of Management of the Vietnam Cultural Heritage Conservation Support Fund, emphasised the importance of heritage in shaping a nation’s cultural identity.

“No country can build a culture without history. Cultural heritage is a legacy passed down through generations, forming a spiritual foundation that strengthens and inspires the development of modern society,” he said

He also highlighted TikTok’s role in revitalising traditional values through technology, making heritage more accessible and engaging for young people.

“TikTok is proud to contribute to the preservation and promotion of Vietnam’s cultural heritage, bringing national treasures closer to younger generations in the digital era. Through our platform, we believe young people will play a key role in spreading heritage values, bridging the past with the present, and inspiring communities both locally and globally,” said Nguyen Lam Thanh, representative of TikTok Vietnam.
