Taking place from November 20-24 at the Royal City Shopping Mall Square in Hanoi, the 2024 Vietnam Regional Specialties Fair is being organised by the Hanoi People’s Committee in collaboration with the Investment, Trade, and Tourism Promotion Centre and related entities.
Gathering over 200 participants from 63 provinces and cities, including manufacturers, cooperatives, and industry associations, with 59 provinces showcasing their "Regional Specialty Booths", the fair serves as a prime opportunity for businesses and localities to promote their specialities to domestic and international consumers. It also facilitates effective participation in Hanoi's supply and distribution chains.
This annual event is a much-anticipated highlight for distributors seeking quality suppliers and for consumers eager to explore, shop, and experience Vietnam’s rich regional culture during the year-end season.
The "Regional Specialty Booths" will feature signature products from various localities, including items with geographical indication certifications and export-oriented goods with improved packaging and quality.
The Northwest Highlands brings distinctive products that showcase the region's heritage and traditions. Visitors can explore heritage tea cakes, Seng Cu rice, and the spicy kick of Muong Khuong chilli. Other highlights include smoked buffalo meat, Bac Kan fragrant squash, and the juicy Ham Yen oranges, all of which reflect the unique agricultural bounty of this mountainous area.
In the Red River Delta, the culinary offerings are equally enticing. From the rich, slow-cooked Vu Dai braised fish to the seasonal delicacy of Tu Ky ragworm, this region boasts a range of flavourful specialities. Hung Yen longan, with its sweet and succulent taste, and the iconic Siu Chau peanut candy, known for its rich texture, add to the delta’s charm.
The Central region is renowned for its high-value speciality products, many of which are already export-oriented. Highlights include Khanh Hoa bird’s nest, prized for its nutritional value, and Ly Son garlic, a celebrated ingredient in Vietnamese cuisine. Visitors can also find Phu Yen seafood, the juicy and vibrant Ninh Thuan grapes, and the aromatic Quang Nam agarwood, which represents the region's diverse agricultural and forestry products.
The Central Highlands stands out with its rich agricultural heritage, offering unique items such as wind-dried persimmons, Dai Hung avocados, and premium macadamia nuts. Coffee from this region, celebrated for its robust flavour, is another standout, while sun-dried beef showcases the ingenuity and flavours of local cuisine.
In the Southern region, visitors can enjoy staples like Tay Ninh rice paper and salt, which are essential to many Vietnamese dishes, as well as Dong Nai dried beef, cashew nuts, and pepper. These products highlight the region’s agricultural richness and its focus on quality.
The Mekong Delta rounds out the experience with its abundance of tropical and artisanal specialities. Iconic items include Ca Mau crab, known for its freshness, and Go Cong fermented fish, a testament to traditional preservation techniques. Sweet offerings such as palm sugar and coconut nectar provide a taste of the region's natural sweetness, while Phu Quoc pepper and Pia cake add further depth to the delta’s culinary and cultural diversity.
The fair also features continuous business networking events connecting enterprises with major distributors such as AEON, Lotte, Central Retail, clean retail chains, and e-commerce platforms like Alibaba and Foodmap.
In addition, cultural and tourism promotion activities, along with product showcases organised by provinces and businesses, are creating a vibrant festival atmosphere for visitors to explore and experience Vietnam's regional specialities, culture, and tourism.
