The event will be graced by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, alongside key leaders from various ministries, government agencies, research institutions, universities, companies, banks, investment funds, and global organisations. This high-profile gathering aims to showcase NIC’s transformation over the past five years and reaffirm its role in advancing Vietnam’s innovation ecosystem under the theme “Aspiration - Pioneering - Breakthrough.”

The NIC has been instrumental in fostering an environment conducive to developing cutting-edge technologies, particularly through collaboration between government, universities, and enterprises. The centre has played a pivotal role in promoting Vietnam as a leader in the semiconductor and AI sectors by facilitating training programmes and scholarships in line with government policies.

As a result of these efforts, Vietnam has seen continuous improvement in the Global Innovation Index, with the NIC contributing to the country’s global positioning as a tech-driven economy. Vietnam now ranks first globally in high-tech imports, exports, and creative goods exports.

Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung, in his opening remarks, highlighted NIC’s mission, saying, "On October 2, 2019, the NIC was established with the goal of leveraging the opportunities presented by the Fourth Industrial Revolution and driving Vietnam's breakthrough in innovation."

The NIC has focused on advancing key technology sectors and is now seen as a major player in positioning Vietnam as a leader in innovation and entrepreneurship in Asia by 2045.

Our five-year anniversary celebration is not only an opportunity to reflect on the achievements we've made, but also a springboard for breakthroughs in the future, shaping the technological landscape of Vietnam.”

Vietnam's global innovation index has been climbing up year by year to 44th of 133 countries and territories.
