Amata City Ha Long marks six years of development

Amata City Ha Long (also known as Song Khoai Industrial Park), in collaboration with Quang Ninh Economic Zones Authority, organised the first meeting of investors on April 19.

The meeting aimed to address any difficulties facing enterprises, promote growth in foreign direct investment (FDI) recruitment, enhance relationships between investors and local authorities, and open new educational cooperation within the park.

A key IZ for FDI recruitment in the northern region

Amata City Ha Long, a key industrial zone for Quang Ninh province and the Red River Delta, has attracted new-generation FDI enterprises.

Boasting synchronous and modern infrastructure, Amata Ha Long is oriented towards sustainable development, high competitiveness, and is expected to become a driving force for growth in Quang Ninh province.

Amata Ha Long enjoys a strategic location in the province, boasting comprehensive and interconnected transport infrastructure.

Furthermore, technical infrastructure, including power and water supplies, wastewater treatment, telecommunications, and an internal transport network have all been installed to a high standard.

According to Nguyen Van Nhan, general director of Amata City Ha Long, after more than six years of development, Song Khoai IP has attracted 18 foreign-invested projects from six countries covering approximating 130ha. The total registered investment value comes to nearly $2.6 million, creating jobs for about 5,000 labours.

“This makes Amata Industrial Park the fastest-investing and largest FDI industrial park (IP) in Quang Ninh province,” said Nhan.

Amata Ha Long has completed and put into operation a 110KV power station and 22KV distribution network with a capacity of 189MVA, and is continuing to invest in increasing the capacity to 315MVA in the second quarter (Q2) of 2024.

For the water supply system, Amata has invested in the water supply plant and the distribution pipeline system with a total capacity of 20,000m3/day, continuing to invest in increasing the capacity to 27,000m3/day in Q2 of 2024.

Amata Ha Long enjoys a strategic location in the province, boasting comprehensive and interconnected transport infrastructure.

Amata has also built a centralised wastewater treatment plant and collection pipeline system with a total capacity of 16,000m3/day, which will increase to 20,000m3/day in Q4 of 2024.

The park features green spaces, and Amata has cooperated with telecommunication units to invest in BTS stations to ensure coverage for the entire IP.

Roads across the IP cover 6km, and Amata is striving to complete a road connecting the expressway to Provincial Road 331 in Q3 of 2024 and completing the entire route in Q2 of 2025.

Supporting customers throughout challenges

In the spirit of listening and learning, the meeting opened a discussion to address and resolve investors' difficulties.

Aukkares Choochouy, director of Amata VN PCL, and general director of Amata Facility Services Co., Ltd, said that Amata aims to meet the needs of investors and hopes to exceed all expectations. Today, investors have many different choices, but choosing Amata as an investment destination shows their trust and confidence.

“Amata is committed to building long-term relationships based on trust, integrity, and mutual respect through the provision of good services, top-quality products, and innovative tailored solutions to meet the needs of each investor,” Aukkares said.

New investment projects and education cooperation

In addition, Quang Ninh Economic Zones Authority awarded investment registration certificates at the conference to two new projects in Song Khoai IP with total capital surpassing $100 million.

Tenma Vietnam Co., Ltd. (Japan) has invested in manufacturing and trading plastic moulding components and assembly/moulding.

The project has total investment of $56 million, and is expected to commence operations in Q2 of 2025.

Yaskawa Asia Pacific PTE. LTD received an investment registration certificate

The second project is the Yaskawa Vietnam mechanical and electrical systems project. With total investment of $49.2 million, the project is being undertaken by Yaskawa Asia Pacific PTE. LTD, a member of Japan's Yaskawa Group. The entire project is expected to be operational by April 2026.

Furthermore, Amata City Ha Long JSC and the Asian Institute of Technology Center in Vietnam (AIT Vietnam) entered into an MoU on training programmes. This initiative aims to enhance the quality of human resources.
