Vietnamese 5-star hotels voted among world’s best

Forbes Travel Guide recognised two Vietnamese 5-star hotels as the world’s leading hotels in 2024 at the Star Awards ceremony in February.

The 5-star rating is Forbes Travel Guide’s highest ranking for hotels that are excellent or iconic, with classy services and state-of-the-art amenities.

More than 200 hotels and resorts around the world are rated five stars, including Sofitel Legend Metropole in Hanoi and Four Seasons Resort The Nam Hai in the central province of Quang Nam.

Three other hotels in Vietnam rated 4-stars are InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort, Park Hyatt Saigon, and The Reverie Saigon.

Compared to Southeast Asia, Vietnam ranks fourth in the number of 5-star hotels, after Indonesia, Singapore, and Thailand.

To receive the award, candidates must pass 900 criteria set by the organising committee. The total score for ranking an accommodation facility is based on factors including services, quality, and condition of facilities.

Experts from more than 80 countries secretly booked rooms and stayed two nights in 2023 to evaluate and vote on destinations. Hotels receiving awards represent only 20 per cent of the total number of evaluated accommodation establishments.

The Star Awards is an annual award since 1958 that honours hotels, restaurants, spas, and yachts in more than 80 countries around the world.
