When fully completed in 2025, the centre will span more than 100,000 square metres with a processing capacity of over 2.5 million parcels per day, and feature the latest automated goods sorting system.
The first phase of construction is scheduled for completion in 2025 with operations commencing the same year. When officially launched, the centre is expected to contribute thousands of new job and economic opportunities to surrounding communities, aiding the overall development of Binh Duong province and improving logistics infrastructure in Vietnam.
At the breaking ground ceremony, Edwin Tan, deputy CEO, Frasers Property Vietnam, said that Binh Duong province was known for its strategic location and its well invested urban infrastructure system.
“Its industrial parks are currently contributing 10 per cent of the country's export value, and Binh Duong is increasingly asserting its key position in the regionally linked logistics supply chain. This has allowed Binh Duong to continue to attract more and outstanding foreign investment capital,” Tan said.
“With all the better conditions to become the logistics hub of the southern region of Vietnam, the province is an ideal destination for domestic and foreign logistics businesses, including SPX Express - a logistics provider for cost-effective and reliable delivery services with a network covering 63 cities and provinces in the country,” he said.
