As Vietnam is facing the growing fourth wave of COVID-19 in many cities and provinces, P&G Vietnam has stepped up as a force for good to provide support to local governments and people in the fight against the pandemic.

The latest announced additional sponsor packages by P&G Vietnam – part of Procter & Gamble (P&G), an American multinational corporation with leading brands across a wide range of consumer good categories – include VND3 billion ($130,430) in cash to help medical front liners through Binh Duong Red Cross and VND3.6 billion ($156,520) in-kind through Vietnam Red Cross and the Vietnamese Fatherland Front Central Committee in Ho Chi Minh City.

At the same time, P&G Vietnam has also provided hygiene kits worth VND3 billion (including hand washing liquid, face masks, and vitamins) to its sales and office employees, as well as to employees of its nationwide distributors.

Earlier, since the onset of the COVID-19 outbreak last year, P&G Vietnam donated VND5 billion ($217,390) through the Vietnamese Fatherland Front Central Committee in Ho Chi Minh City to purchase personal protective equipment (PPE) kits for medical front-liners and personal hygiene kits (Safeguard, H&S, Ariel, Gillette) for use at government quarantine camps.

The total amount of donations made by P&G Vietnam since early 2020 are nearly VND15 billion ($652,170).

“P&G has a long history of supporting our communities in times of need all around the world,” said Sai Ramana Ponugoti, P&G Vietnam general director. “Since the onset of the COVID-19 outbreak, P&G has stepped up its commitments to be a force for good and we have been working with long-standing partner organisations to provide support to communities, relief agencies, and people impacted by this extraordinary situation.”

Besides timely actions to support communities, P&G has also promised to maintain operations to ensure the supply of products to all consumers and customers at this challenging time.

P&G and its employees are working hard to continue making personal care, health, and hygienic brands like Safeguard, Ariel, Downy, Head & Shoulders, Rejoice, Pantene, Gillette, Whisper, and Pampers available to Vietnamese consumers through the current health emergency, while putting in place additional measures to keep its employees safe.

To date, P&G global and its brands have made in-kind product and monetary donations collectively valued at more than $10 million around the globe. These donations have provided financial support, hygiene education, and vital medical equipment and products for those most vulnerable and for individuals assisting those who are impacted by COVID-19.
