The exhibition titled “Cultural heritage: Kon Tum’s Ngoc Linh ginseng – Jungle Treasure” was officially opened on January 20 at Hanoi’s National History Museum. The event was attended by Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam, and leaders of several ministries and local authorities.
At the exhibition, the Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc expressed the belief that the quality of Ngoc Linh ginseng’s products are completely able to compete with South Korean ginseng, Japanese ginseng. Therefore, promoting the country’s ginseng abroad is a necessary mission of the province’s authority and local government. |
This is the first time that Hanoi residents get the opportunity to enjoy more than 200 images and materials of Ngoc Linh ginseng – Kon Tum’s rare medicine.
In addition, the event is also an action to materialise the prime minister’s directions on Kon Tum province’s socioeconomic development. According to the prime minister, enhancing promotion activities for Ngoc Linh ginseng is one of Kon Tum’s most important missions to boost the province’s socioeconomic development.
Accordingly, to broaden the global appeal of Ngoc Linh ginseng, the local government needs an appropriate strategy, including luring in startups, boosting communications, and research and development (R&D) to highlight the unique values of Ngoc Linh ginseng.
In addition to promotional activities, the preservation of the ginseng plant is also important. For a long time now, the ginseng trees at Ngoc Linh mountain (Kon Tum, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, Gia Lai) have been over-exploited. Meanwhile, growing ginseng is an arduous and difficult process that takes a long time. Therefore, preserving Ngoc Linh ginseng is extremely urgent.
