VILOG 2024, with the theme "Green Logistics - Foundation for Sustainable Development", was organised by the Ministry of Industry and Trade from August 1-3. It featured 400 booths run by over 300 companies from 20 countries and territories, an overall increase of more than 30 per cent compared to last year's event.
Vietnam's logistics industry is continuing to grow in scale and quality. World Bank data showed Vietnam ranked 43rd in the Logistics Performance Index (LPI), among the top five in Southeast Asia and the top 10 emerging logistics markets globally. In the first seven months of 2024, the logistics industry contributed to a 17.1 per cent increase in Vietnam's total trade turnover compared to the same period in 2023, reaching $439.88 billion.
In addition to improving service capacity, the exhibition highlighted the efforts of Vietnam's logistics industry in green and digital transformation to meet sustainable development needs, in line with the National Green Growth Strategy for 2021-2030 issued by the PM, in which logistics is one of 18 key topics.
