Hanoi Tourism Department and Traveloka recently signed an MoU for a strategic partnership to enhance tourism services in Hanoi.

Hanoi Tourism Department and Traveloka, Southeast Asia's leading travel platform, signed an MoU on July 31 to establish a strategic partnership aimed at promoting diverse offers and convenient services for tourists exploring Hanoi.

Traveloka will participate in content consultation for the 'Hanoi Tourism Plan' until 2025, and take part in promotional campaigns to position Hanoi as a top destination on the travel platform.

Based on data shared by Traveloka at the event, Hanoi is one of the most popular destinations on the platform, with airline ticket sales to the city doubling in the first half of 2024 compared to the same period last year.

This collaboration aims to enhance the quality of products and services to attract international tourists to Hanoi. With a commitment to harness Hanoi's potential to meet travellers' preferences, Traveloka plans to deliver seamless, accessible, and friendly experiences, exemplified by more convenient bookings with various promotions.

Speaking at the event, Dang Huong Giang, director of Hanoi Tourism Department, said, "Collaborating with a travel platform like Traveloka emphasises Hanoi's commitment to digitally transforming the tourism industry, aiming to build the city into a premier destination."

She added, "We expect to offer more promotions, increase searches for information about Hanoi, and boost tourist numbers. We also hope Traveloka will provide tourists with modern and convenient experiences when exploring Hanoi's tourism offerings."

Iko Putera, Traveloka's transport director, said, "With a deep understanding of local characteristics as well as tourist behaviours and preferences, the collaboration between Traveloka and Hanoi will elevate the city's tourism industry amidst rapid digital transformation. Hanoi has long been a famous destination on the Southeast Asia tourism map. I believe Traveloka will help those who already know Hanoi to visit more easily and conveniently, while also becoming an excellent platform for new tourists to discover and plan their trips to this charming city".

At the signing ceremony, Hanoi Tourism Department also organised a conference to promote and survey tourist routes and destinations in Mekong Delta provinces. The conference aimed to strengthen tourism development cooperation between Hanoi, Ninh Binh, Kon Tum, and Mekong Delta provinces, and to promote domestic tourism through advertising and promotions.

The MoU between Hanoi Tourism Department and Traveloka has been recognised at the highest level, including a meeting between the Vietnamese prime minister and Traveloka's co-founder in Indonesia in 2023.

Before partnering with Hanoi Tourism Department, Traveloka had established close partnerships with provincial tourism agencies such as Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Department, Haiphong Tourism Department, Kien Giang Province Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Centre, and Danang Tourism Promotion Centre to support these localities in digital transformation, sustainable tourism development, and enhancing tourism experiences for domestic and international tourists.

Traveloka is a travel platform established in Indonesia in 2012, and is now also present in Thailand, Vietnam, Singapore, Malaysia, and the Philippines. The platform allows consumers to access, explore, and book a transportation, accommodation, and tour products and services.
