GELEX and FPT sign MoU on digital transformation

A signing ceremony for an MoU between GELEX and FPT was held on June 11 in Hanoi. The companies have agreed to collaborate in four areas.

Ensuring comprehensive digital transformation for GELEX member companies; implementing telecommunications infrastructure for GELEX's real estate projects; investment collaboration on data centre projects; and cooperation in semiconductors, including building facilities to support research and development, and inviting eminent industry figures to visit Vietnam.

The collaboration allows the two sides to maximise their potential, assist each other's growth in the Vietnamese and international markets, open up new opportunities, and allure investment cooperation from global partners.

Speaking at the ceremony, Nguyen Trong Hien, board chairman of GELEX said, "Extensive digital transformation is one of GELEX's key strategies. It is a pleasure to collaborate with FPT, an international-standard technology company."

Hien revealed that the company’s goal of creating a partnership ecosystem with prominent multinational corporations yielded excellent results last year, including collaboration with Frasers Property and Sembcorp Industries.

GELEX will continue to pursue this approach to deepen the group’s engagement in global value chains, grow and improve higher-added value product segments in core areas, bolster exports, and strive to be the top investment group in Vietnam.

"This collaboration will help us open up many new investment opportunities in digital infrastructure, the semiconductor industry, and elsewhere that are mutually beneficial to both parties," added Hien.

At the ceremony, Nguyen Van Khoa, general director of FPT Corporation said that the corporation has just celebrated its 36th anniversary and is now operating in the three areas of technology, telecommunications, and education.

"GELEX has many things in common with FPT, particularly our shared objective of a green future. FPT's strategy focuses on AI, semiconductors, automotive software, digital transformation, and green transformation. We expect that today's signing ceremony will be the beginning of a long journey of collaborating, growing together, and contributing to the country’s development," said Khoa.

Additionally, Khoa hopes that by working together, the corporate cultures of FPT and GELEX would be shared, encouraging innovation based on their shared core beliefs. FPT will use its substantial experience to support GELEX's objectives.
