Deputy PM highlights Quang Nam development potential

Addressing Quang Nam’s conference on March 16 to announce provincial planning towards 2030 and launch National Biodiversity Restoration Year 2024, DPM Quang assessed that the province has converged diverse important factors to leapfrog in the forthcoming time.

"Quang Nam features diverse terrains with seas, mountains, forests, an open economic region, a synchronous infrastructure system, and holds a substantial geopolitical location," Quang said in his speech. "Compared to other localities in the country, the province also takes the lead in the number of martyrs, heroine mothers, armed forces heroes, and policy families."

Quang Nam is also a land of outstanding people that are rich in heritage and associated with a long-standing culture, he added. Besides that, Quang Nam has great potential for biodiversity, providing an opportunity for the locality to develop sustainable and environmentally friendly tourism.

With its existing potential and strengths, the deputy PM expressed his confidence and expectations in the province’s breakthrough development, and suggested four areas of focus.

"For planning implementation, Quang Nam must comply with the directions and solutions to implement those directions. Otherwise, we will not reach the destination we desire," said Quang. "The province must also be flexible and recognise if a goal is invalid.

The third aspect is synchronisation, as Quang Nam’s planning must be synchronised with the planning of the whole country, the region, and diverse sectors. If the plans are not synchronised, there will not be enough conditions for action and development, Quang noted.

"Finally, businesses and individuals must accompany and understand the locality along its development process,” said Quang.

Also addressing the conference, Quang Nam Party Committee Secretary Luong Nguyen Minh Triet said that the planning strategy marks an important debut of a long journey of implementation with noble goals.

"At a time when there are many favourable factors, yet many challenges persist in the process of building and developing Quang Nam," Triet said. "To make the planning come true, Quang Nam hopes to continue receiving attention and assistance from the central government, as well as the companionship and support of other localities and the business community."
