AEON Group to contribute VND25 billion to Vietnam COVID-19 Vaccine Fund

Japanese retail giant AEON Group today announced to contribute VND25 billion ($1.08 million) to the Vietnam COVID-19 Vaccine Fund, joining hands with the Vietnamese government in promoting COVID-19 vaccination, ensuring safety and security for local communities.

With the mission of enriching the lives of the people in ASEAN, AEON will support the governments of Southeast Asian countries affected by the pandemic to accelerate the purchase of COVID-19 vaccine and thereby support pandemic control and economic rebound.

Particularly in Vietnam, AEON Group will contribute VND25 billion ($1.08 million) to the national COVID-19 Vaccine Fund, responding to the call of the Vietnamese prime minister to support the purchase of vaccines and early vaccination for people.

AEON Group has decided to donate to the Vietnam Vaccine Fund because we thought that now is the right time we express our most sincere gratitude to our customers who support our business and take action in accordance with AEON's basic principles – pursuing peace, respecting humanity, and contributing to local communities,” said Furusawa Yasuyuki, general director of AEON Vietnam. “We hope that AEON’s donation would support Vietnam through joining hands with the Vietnamese government to realise the goal of early vaccination for people.”
