Capture the recovering flow of in-country and cross-border travel

According to a forecast from the International Air Transport Association, by the end of 2022, Vietnam’s domestic aviation market will have fully recovered, with high growth compared to the 2019 period.

The international market is growing, gradually recovering, and is forecast to reach 2019 levels by the end of 2023. Vietnam's total air transport market in 2023 is forecast to approximate 80 million passengers, an increase of 45.4 per cent compared to 2022.

In the first two months of 2023, the passenger numbers for Vietnamese airlines reached 9.8 million, an increase of 91.9 per cent on-year. The demand for international travel during summer is also expected to continue surging during this peak season.

Through this partnership with Vietnam Airlines, UOB Vietnam aims to capture the rising demand for both in-country and cross-border travel, especially during the summer season.

Offering customers attractive deals for the peak travel season

Under this partnership, UOB's cardholders and Vietnam Airlines' Lotusmiles members can look forward to a range of exclusive benefits and privileges.

Accordingly, from now until July 31, customers have the chance to enjoy free Lotusmiles membership and no annual fees for the first year, together with attractive benefits when applying for credit cards issued by UOB from Vietnam Airlines and UOB Vietnam cooperation.

Lotusmiles members in the Million Miler, Platinum, Gold, or Titanium tiers will receive up to 15,000 bonus miles, equivalent to a round-trip flight from Hanoi to Danang or Ho Chi Minh to Danang when they meet the spending requirement of VND8 million ($345) within 60 days from the date the credit card is approved. In addition, the document requirements for member tiers from Titanium are simplified, with only ID and Lotusmiles membership required for submission.

Customers with a PremierMiles card issued by UOB can convert the awarded miles from UOB Vietnam to Lotusmiles easily. Miles can be used to redeem Vietnam Airlines flights and Skyteam services and rewards in the diverse ecosystem of the Golden Lotus programme.

Furthermore, customers with a PremierMiles card issued by UOB can earn one mile for every VND25,000 ($1.08) spent. As a token of appreciation, they can also receive up to 15,000 additional miles every year and enjoy eight complimentary Airport Lounge visits per year through the Priority Pass membership card.
