These two events will be taking place simultaneously this September 4-6 at Saigon Exhibition and Convention Centre (SECC) in Ho Chi Minh City’s District 7.
The show expects to bring together more than 7,000 manufacturers, traders and buyers, helping businesses discover potential suppliers, gain industry insights, solutions and adopt technologies that will enhance their production lines to meet the future demands of sustainable energy in the Asia-Pacific.
Electric and Power Vietnam and HVACR Vietnam are leading exhibitions in Power, Renewable Energy and HVAC technologies in the country |
The Asia-Pacific region is witnessing robust renewable energy project development as a result of the various technologies’ cost competitiveness, as well as government actions to clean up the power generation mix across countries.
According to a report by DNV- one of the world’s leading certification bodies, renewable energy generation in the Asia-Pacific is expected to increase by 47 per cent between 2021 and 2030, and energy storage system (ESS) deployment is being evaluated as a potential solution in this sector.
The Asia-Pacific energy storage market size is projected to reach $75.56 billion by 2032, registering a compound annual growth rate of 14.2 per cent during the forecast period.
This prominent niche is rising due to concerns towards supply security along with soaring demand for power backup.
In that context, Informa Markets, a global trade exhibition organiser headquartered in the UK, is bringing Electric and Power Vietnam 2024 and HVACR (Heating, Ventilation, Air-conditioning and Refrigeration) Vietnam 2024 back to Ho Chi Minh City from September 4-6.
These prominent events will cover 8,800 sq.m of exhibition area.
These two events will feature over 350 exhibitors from over 15 leading technology countries and regions, including China, the Czech Republic, Germany, Hong Kong (China), India, Japan, Malaysia, South Korea, Taiwan (China), Thailand, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, Vietnam, Turks and the Caicos Islands.
Numerous advanced technologies in renewable energy will be showcased at 2024 edition |
Electric and Power Vietnam is a biennial trade event in Ho Chi Minh City. Alongside it, HVACR Vietnam, an annual event alternating between the north and the south, is one of the industry's leading exhibitions.
This year, over 7,000 trade visitors are expected to attend these events, which feature various activities designed to enrich the experience for both exhibitors and visitors.
The events will encompass international conferences and specialised seminars on topics like renewable energy transition, data centres, and advanced air conditioning solutions; business networking programmes; and a VR technology experience zone.
The series programmes are the collaborations between Informa Markets and prestigious organisations from around the world and in Vietnam, such as the Asia Pacific Urban Energy Association, Vietnam Internet Association, and Vietnam Cloud Computing and Data Centre Club, Viettel IDC, and Vietnam Society of Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning Engineers.
These collaborations will help attendees stay up-to-date on the latest trends and best practices in their industry, making the shows an unmissable occasion for businesses operating in Vietnam and surrounding regions.
Electric and Power Vietnam 2024 and HVACR Vietnam 2024 will host many insightful seminars on renewable energy and sustainable HVAC technologies |
Ts. Lim Sai Soeng, executive director of QAV Test Technologies (KL) Sdn. Bhd, said, “We've known about Electric and Power event for more than five years. This is our first time participating in the show, and it's really exciting.
“We're eager to come from Malaysia and expand our market to Vietnam. We've found many visitors at this exhibition who could be our prospects. I plan to set up my company in the next six months, so definitely, in two years' time, I'll be here.”
Meanwhile, HVACR Vietnam has been a trustworthy business physical platform for over 15 years.
Kumud Jhamb, vice president of the Energy Division, Southeast Asia, shared in HVACR Vietnam said, “It is a good platform where we can introduce innovative products and solutions to many potential customers and help them save energy in their processes. It is also a good place to meet potential distributors and expand our greener image in the country.”
Under the first-ever national development strategy for renewable energy, Vietnam aims to have over 32 per cent of its generation capacity derived from a combination of solar (19-20GW), wind (18-19GW), and biomass by 2030.
Besides this, there will be an increasing need to improve the IT and telecommunications infrastructure to serve the growth of the distribution grid, along with the development of decentralised power plants.
As part of ASEAN, ESS opportunities in Asia could receive a medium to long-term boost under the ASEAN Plan of Action and Energy Cooperation’s phase II (2021–2025).
Particularly in Vietnam, to address the redundancy of solar power generation during peak times, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) have been considered for application in renewable energy projects. This is evident in the Prime Minister’s orientation to install 300MW of BESS systems by 2030.
In May, Vietnam’s first grid-connected battery storage system integrated by AMI AC Renewables collaborated with global tech giant Honeywell in the southern province of Khanh Hoa, featuring a short-duration BESS with a 15MW output and 7.5MWh capacity. These developments show the key trend for the future of the power industry in Vietnam and Southeast Asia.
As part of the ‘Global Cooling Pledge’ for COP28, Vietnam is fast-tracking policies and incentives to cut energy consumption and curb greenhouse gas emissions.
The Ministry of Planning and Investment reports that by mid-2023, around 563 industrial zones were planned across 61 out of 63 localities in Vietnam, with 397 already established and 292 in operation.
In this scenario, adopting sustainable HVAC systems that boost energy efficiency in large-scale buildings is more than just a trend- it's a vital move towards meeting environmental goals and advancing sustainability.
