At the meeting, MPI Minister Nguyen Chi Dung shared some updates on the socioeconomic development. He expressed his delight at the strategic cooperation relationship between Vietnam and South Korea over the past time, which has continuously developed substantively and comprehensively in all fields.

Minister Dung hoped that SK Group would continue to share experiences on the growth model based on science, technology, and innovation, creating new motivations for Vietnam to achieve its development goals by 2030 and 2045.

"I hope that Vietnam would be an important destination, a global strategy for production, research, development, and expansion of investment projects of SK Group and other foreign investors," said the MPI minister.

Minister Dung suggested that SK Group accelerates the implementation of projects related to clean energy and hydrogen, strengthening the development of ecosystems to build supporting industries in Vietnam. The Vietnamese government will support and accompany SK Group in collaboration with the National Innovation Center (NIC) to pilot projects and research in Vietnam.

"We will actively study the possibility of cooperation between SK Group and state-owned enterprises in Vietnam in order to realise the concept of building a business ecosystem, taking the lead in implementing the emission reduction commitment at COP26, transitioning to clean energy, and reducing carbon emissions," added the MPI minister.

The government is creating favourable conditions and improving the investment environment for foreign investors, actively handling the SK Group's recommendations, including training of human resources to meet the needs of businesses and investors.

MoIT Minister Nguyen Hong Dien highlighted the cooperation between Vietnam and SK Group on renewable and green energy.

"We are considering investing in hydrogen projects in Mekong River Delta, and high-tech and green energy projects in Vietnam," said the SK Group chairman.

Dien suggested SK Group to soon send experts to coordinate with the MoIT, the MPI, and other ministries and agencies to study and invest in these fields, establish a research centre, and transfer production technology.

SK Group's chairman Chey Tae-won highly appreciated the positive changes in Vietnam's socioeconomic development and pandemic prevention.

"We are considering investing in hydrogen projects in Mekong River Delta, and high-tech and green energy projects in Vietnam," said the chairman.

SK Group will send experts to the Vietnamese market to explore investment opportunities, discuss and share experiences on the green power value chains, and cooperate with the MPI's NIC to implement specific innovation programmes in Vietnam.
