During 2022-2023, Sao Do Group, a major industrial real estate developer in the northern region, supported the city to effectively implement sustainable poverty reduction programmes.

Eminent activities included giving 5,000 gifts in the “Tet of Kindness” event with a value surpassing $104,000 for poor households; supporting the construction of new houses for 20 poor households with an amount reaching $166,500; giving scholarships to 100 children of poor and near-poor households, and children with special circumstances striving to study well; supporting subsistence costs for more than 220 poor households under the sustainable poverty reduction project for the 2022-2025 period.

Marking the occasion of the Lunar New Year of the Dragon, Sao Do Group donated 500 “Tet of Kindness” gifts with a total value approximating $14,600 to visit and encourage poor, near-poor households, and elderly people in Hai An and Duong Kinh districts.

“We just hope that each given gift can help one more family have a more sufficient and warmer Lunar New Year. For Sao Do Group, ‘Tet of Kindness’ is not simply an annual activity, but it is a journey of giving love. Sao Do Group will continue its journey to spread more beautiful and humanistic values to the community,” said Nguyen Thanh Phuong, general director of the company.

In particular, the project to build houses for the poor in the city's diverse districts has been appreciated and gathered deep thanks from local authorities and poor households of the city.

Sao Do Group had built and inaugurated 20 solidarity apartments that bring new joy and motivation to households living in difficult circumstances.

As one of them, Bui Thi Trang never thought that one day she and her mother would be able to live in a new, spacious and clean house like this.

In 2015, her husband became seriously ill. Although she had to sell her land and house to pay for her husband's medical treatment, luck was not on her side.

In 2018, he passed away.

Since then Trang has raised two children alone and lived in the home of her relatives. Receiving the gift house, happy and touching tears were shed, from now on, she and her mother have their own house, and life has turned a new, brighter page.

With positive charitable contributions, last year Sao Do Group received rewards from the city’s diverse management agencies.

Chairman of Haiphong People's Committee awarded Sao Do a Certificate of Merit for outstanding achievements in 2018-2023 with the “For the poor, leaving no one behind” movement.

Haiphong Red Cross Society recognised the company's supporting $104,000 for the “Tet of Kindness” campaign in the Lunar New Year of the Cat 2023.

The group also received Certificates of Merit from Hai An and Duong Kinh districts for contributions to social wellbeing activities during 2022-2023.

“Towards the goal of creating a purely Vietnamese economic group with sustainable development, Sao Do has asserted its position in the market. We are happy joining hands with the city’s management to contribute to bringing a more beautiful life to people in difficult circumstances, spreading humane values,” said Phuong. “This journey of spreading love will never stop.”
