Attending the meeting were top government officials, including Politburo member and Secretary of the Party Central Committee Truong Thi Mai; Politburo member and standing Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh; Secretary of the Party Central Committee cum Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee Tran Thanh Man; Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs Vu Chien Thang; Secretary of the Danang Party’s Committee Truong Quang Nghia; and nearly 150 dignitaries representing 43 religious organisations and 16 religions.

Speaking at the ceremony, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc expressed great appreciation for religious organisations' active participation in the building and defence of the fatherland and efforts to uphold solidarity.
In August 2019, Vietnam has more than 26 million religious followers with nearly 56,000 dignitaries, 29,396 establishments of religious worship, about 45,000 religious establishments, 3,000 relics associated with religion, including several recognised by the UNESCO as world heritage.
The event demonstrated the Party and the state's care for religion and affirmed Vietnam's policies respecting the right to belief and religious freedom of all citizens.
