The agreement marks the first appearance of two brands in Vietnam, Ritz-Carlton Reserve and The Luxury Collection on Hon Thom Island, a tropical paradise off Phu Quoc.
The third hotel, under the JW Marriott brand, is situated in peaceful in Trang An, in the northern province of Ninh Binh, and is recognised by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site.
According to Rajeev Menon, president of Asia Pacific (excluding China), Marriott International, "Vietnam is an attractive destination for international tourists because of its natural scenery and cultural relics of indigenous characters."
“At the same time, the need to experience high-class international brands is also a potential need for domestic tourists. We are excited to expand our luxury brands in Vietnam as this dynamic country is a potential market for high-end tourism, with outstanding growth in the international and domestic tourist markets,” Menon added.Expected to come into operation in 2028, JW Marriott Trang An Resort & Spa is being developed by Bitexco Group, also an investor in JW Marriott Hanoi.

Nestled in a lush green area, the luxury resort will boast 150 spacious rooms with 35 one- and two-bedroom villas, including villas with private pools.
The resort will have two restaurants, a French bakery and café, a lobby lounge, and two bars. The relaxation and entertainment spaces will include two swimming pool areas, a JW spa with all the brand's signature features with six treatment rooms, a fitness centre, a kids club with an outdoor playground, and an entertainment activity centre. The hotel is expected to have an 850 square metre (sq.m) event space, with a 500 sq.m conference hall and two meeting rooms.
The Ritz-Carlton Reserve Resort, located on Hon Thom Island, is connected to Phu Quoc by a spectacular cable car.
Expected to open in 2028 and designed by legendary architect Bill Bensley, the Ritz-Carlton Reserve resort will allow guests to truly 'escape' in complete relaxation in a private world of luxury and natural beauty.
Located right at the south of Hon Thom Island, with beautiful sea views at the southern Phu Quoc archipelago, the resort will host a collection of 40 villas with private swimming pools.
Public spaces include two swimming pools, a spa and a fitness centre, three restaurants, three bars, and an environmental protection educational offering for children in a beautiful two-story garden named after famed environmentalist and oceanographic explorer, Jean-Michel Cousteau. The event space is in a 300sq.m area and is suitable for beachside weddings.
Meanwhile, The Luxury Collection Resort is owned by Sun Group and is expected to come into operation in 2029.

Nestled on the northwest coast of Hon Thom island, The Luxury Collection resort will have a total of 305 rooms and suites with areas ranging from 50 to 250 square metres, including family-sized rooms.
Resort amenities include two swimming pools, a kids' club, an entertainment centre, a fitness centre, and a Luxury Collection Spa with seven treatment rooms, whirlpools, saunas, and steam rooms. Six restaurants and bars will offer diverse culinary options in 1,690sq.m, a 900sq.m conference hall and three smaller conference rooms. Sun Group is also an investor in JW Marriott Phu Quoc Emerald Bay Resort & Spa.
Marriott currently operates 20 hotels in the country on behalf of eight different brands in 10 destinations.
