InterContinental Saigon unveils 2024 collection of premium mooncakes

The magpie is considered one of the most intelligent birds and is regarded as the bringer of good fortune in Eastern cultures. With the pair of magpies bathed under a verdant shade of moonlight on its iconic round-shaped box, InterContinental Saigon shows its respect towards the beloved legacy, vision for a bright future, and well wishes for all of its guests.

The team of designers paid dedication to the design to create the sophisticated and luxurious package. Inspired by the image of the full moon on the night of August, the Hy Thuoc Doan Vien cake box has a full round shape, representing abundance and fulfilment. The cake box is designed with two floors, each floor consisting of two cakes surrounded by small boxes with eye-catching motifs.

IMagpies are the theme for this year

The design story of this year’s Mid-Autumn Festival cake collection uses the image of a magpie, a symbol of luck and reunion in East Asian culture, to convey best wishes. The image of a pair of magpies is embossed with sophisticated and luxurious gold, combined with the brilliant image of flower branches under the moonlight.

The hotel uses jade green as the main colour tone, not only highlighting the design details but also creating a harmonious and elegant overall look.

In addition, inside the box is a perfect combination of traditional and modern flavours, with the fillings that have made the name of InterContinental Saigon. The mooncake box includes four types of cakes, each with a unique flavour, from green tea with lotus seeds, and mixed ham with eight treasures, to traditional roasted chicken. It has also launched a new filling: a combination of fatty taro and fresh seafood, bringing a new flavour.
