Insulators replaced on 500kV Son La - Hoa Binh power line

The task of replacing insulators and accessories in 55 locations along the line was completed one day ahead of schedule.

This success will ensure the safety of the national grid and contribute to improving the reliability of power supply to the northwest region.

With a total length of 116.419 km, the 500kV Son La - Hoa Binh line has shown signs during its 14 years of operation. To ensure safety and improve the efficiency of power transmission, Power Transmission Company 1 (PTC 1) decided to implement a large-scale insulator replacement project.

With a spirit of solidarity and creativity, PTC1's staff have overcome all difficulties to complete the task. Modern technical solutions such as the use of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and Lidar technology were applied to survey and plan the construction. Thanks to that, the work was carried out quickly, accurately and safely. Workers had to work on towering power poles in harsh conditions to replace insulators. However, with the spirit of solidarity and support from the company's leaders, the units overcame all difficulties and completed the task.

“The project faced many challenges, especially high mountainous terrain, steep slopes, and harsh weather. However, with high determination and the support of modern technologies such as UAVs and Lidar, the engineers quickly overcame those difficulties. The spirit of solidarity and close coordination between units were also important factors contributing to the success of the project,” Phan Dong Minh, deputy director of Hoa Binh Power Centre, said.

At noon on November 7, Minh announced that the entire project had been completed a day early (the construction time according to the plan was four days).

The completion of the 500kV Son La - Hoa Binh power line insulator replacement project is not only a technical success but also affirms the capacity and professionalism of the Vietnamese electricity industry in general and of the power centre workers in particular.
