According to Hanoi Department of Tourism, the 2024 Hanoi Tourism Gift Festival will be held from August 23 to 25 and will be centred around 'Hanoi's delicacies'. The festival will take place in the pedestrian area of Tran Nhan Tong street in Hai Ba Trung district.
This year’s festival is dedicated to showcasing Vietnamese branded tourism souvenirs to domestic and international visitors, with the aim of strengthening the gift manufacturing industry. It will also promote collaboration among state agencies, associations, craft villages, tourism businesses, and individuals in the tourism supply chain.
Speaking with VIR, Hanoi Department of Tourism director Dang Huong Giang said, "The festival aims to develop culinary and souvenir tourism, a growing trend in many countries. Visitors will experience quintessential Hanoi foods and drinks, and discover the cultural stories behind each gift."
Several businesses offering tourism services, gift manufacturers, and traders are expected to join the festival, forming eight areas to promote tourism products.
The tourism gift area showcases renowned souvenir brands from manufacturing and trading companies.
In the product area, tourism service enterprises showcase tourism products, tour vouchers, promotion programmes, and incentives for travel enterprises in the city.
The area introducing the quintessence of cuisine is where culinary gift products of Hanoi are displayed.
The craft village experience area will showcase and promote craft village products. Visitors can see these gifts and participate in activities like making bamboo dragonflies and art flowers, guided by renowned Hanoi artisans.
Visitors can also take photos in the exhibition check-in area of the event.
The opening ceremony of the festival will take place on the evening of August 23, in Thong Nhat Park, Hanoi. The ceremony promises to feature elaborate artistic performances, 3D mapping technology demonstrations, and contemporary shadow dance art, bringing a unique visual experience, conveying the story of Hanoi cuisine, culture, and history.
The Hanoi Tourism Gift Festival is an annual event that aims to promote Hanoi as a safe, friendly, high-quality, and attractive tourist destination during the Independence Day holidays on September 2. This is also an activity to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the liberation day of the capital.
