Hanoi plans to introduce a new city bus route connecting Bat Trang |
Vice Chairman of Hanoi People’s Committee Nguyen Manh Quyen has approved a list of intra-city and adjacent bus network routes within Hanoi.
Notably, among the recently announced list, the city plans to introduce city tour bus route No.4, named “Bat Trang Tourism” (CITR 04), in 2024. The starting point of the bus route will be at Hoan Kiem Lake (Dong Kinh Nghia Thuc Square, operating weekly from Monday to Friday) and Dien Hong Flower Garden (Saturdays and Sundays). The last stop will be at Bat Trang Ceramics Museum.
Hanoi currently has three city tour bus routes that use double-decker buses and pass through historical and scenic landmarks, offering a unique experience of Hanoi. International tourists visiting the capital can take a ride to explore the thousand-year-old culture and streets of Thang Long - Hanoi.
Highlights include Dong Kinh Nghia Thuc Square, Hoan Kiem Lake, St. Joseph’s Cathedral, Hanoi Flag Tower, Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, Quan Thanh Temple, Tran Quoc Pagoda, Cua Bac Church, Thang Long Imperial Citadel, Temple of Literature, Hoa Lo Prison, Vietnam Women’s Museum, Hanoi Opera House, and Hanoi Post Office.
The three routes allow tourists to explore the capital at their own pace. Passengers can hop on and off the buses at any sightseeing spot throughout the journey. Particularly, the buses are equipped with modern technology, offering various amenities and multilingual automated commentary to ensure the best possible experience for passengers.
According to the Ministry of Transport, since their launch in 2018, the routes have contributed to enhancing both the tourism and transportation sectors in Hanoi. By connecting tourist attractions and major entertainment spots, the routes have improved access to key destinations in the capital. The initiative has also helped to reduce traffic congestion by encouraging tourists to use designated transportation services.
The implementation of the routes are strategic measures aimed at promoting tourism and positioning it as a key driver of the economy.
