To attract international tourists, Hanoi's tourism sector has been promoting the city's attractions in English, French, Chinese, Japanese, and Korean, while media and digital platforms, including websites and social media platforms like YouTube, Facebook, and TikTok, have been deployed.

Several tourist attractions have implemented electronic ticketing, including the Temple of Literature, Thang Long Imperial Citadel, Hoa Lo Prison, Vietnam Fine Arts Museum, and Quan Thanh Temple.

Additionally, Hanoi Department of Tourism has organised survey groups to explore tourist destinations in Ba Dinh district, such as Voi Phuc Temple and Quan Thanh Temple, as well as several destinations in Nam Son Commune, Soc Son district, and agricultural and rural tourism models in Soc Son, Phuc Tho, and Quoc Oai districts.

The department plans to develop river tourism connecting destinations along the Red and Duong rivers. It is also working on completing the Chuong Duong Do - Bat Trang - Chu Dong Tu temple route, with plans to expand the route from Chuong Duong Do Wharf to Son Tay and Ba Vi.

New cultural and craft village tourism models are also planned for Soc Son district, with a creative design centre for craft villages combined with tourism activities in Phu Xuyen District, along with tourism links along various routes.

Highlighted routes include Hanoi - Ha Nam - Ninh Binh, Hanoi - Son La, and Hanoi - Lao Cai - Lai Chau.

In June, the capital welcomed 2.49 million visitors, a 12.5 per cent increase compared to the same period in 2023.

International tourists reached 496,000, up 55.9 per cent on-year, while domestic tourists totalled two million, a 5.3 per cent increase. The surge in visitor numbers led to total tourism revenue of approximately $3.97 million, a 21.6 per cent increase compared to the same period last year.
