The city is collaborating with Sun Group to implement the Danang Summer Festival 2022. Nguyen Van Binh, chairman of Sun Group in the central region said, “During our journey to beautify this land, we identified 2022 to be a year of recovery. The tourism industry has been hit hard by the pandemic with international tourist arrivals halted and nearly all travel agencies struggling. It is hard to overstate that tourism is a substantive sector, which not only brings large influxes of foreign currencies but also generates employment for the locals.”
Sun Group and other tourism enterprises are on the road to recovery, however, after a long period of hibernation. “Tourists’ demand has also evolved after the pandemic. Therefore, we are willing to contribute to the recovery and development of Vietnam’s tourism industry,” Binh added.
Tran Phuoc Son, Deputy Chairman of Danang People’s Committee noted, “With constant efforts to promote the tourism industry and organise new festivals, the city is expected to lure 3.5 million tourists in 2022, including 180,000 international tourists. Revenues from accommodation and tourism is estimated to reach $288.4 million, up 3.4 times compared with 2021.”
Danang has just successfully hosted Routes Asia 2022, signifying positive signals for the recovery of local tourism. The city will host other major events like the Asia Development Golf Tournament in September. The city has been named host of the tournament for for the next three years to create an impression similar to the annual Danang International Fireworks Festival.
Phillip Nguyen, general director of Duy Anh Trading JSC and deputy head of the Organising Committee of Routes Asia 2022 said, “Bringing Routes Asia to Danang has been a strategic step to resume the tourism sector. We want participants to feel the theme of ‘Fly Now - Shop Now - Vietnam Now’ when visiting Danang. This is the most favourable time to boost the recovery and development of the Asia-Pacific route network.”
In addition, tourism businesses including Sun Group have actively invested in unique tourism products, transforming Danang into an attractive tourist destination. Sun World Ba Na Hills tourist complex has launched a 450m long mountain train, Moon Castle, Sun God Waterfall, and a show called War in the Moon Kingdom.
