In the first nine months of 2024, the province has issued and implemented various plans for digital transformation across many sectors and fields.

The province has also established an inspection team to oversee the leadership, direction, and management of digital transformation and administrative reform efforts. It has also implemented solutions to improve the quality and effectiveness of online public services for provincial departments, agencies, and the People's Committees at district and commune levels for 2024.
Additionally, the province is developing an application to assess, measure, and objectively reflect on the prosperity and happiness of its residents, aiming to improve quality of life and wellbeing in 2024.
Outstanding results
Thanks to the close guidance and attention from various leadership levels, in the first nine months of 2024, the province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau has achieved significant results in its socioeconomic development plans. The digital transformation efforts have also yielded many remarkable outcomes.
As of the end of September 2024, the province had completed 29 out of 37 digital transformation targets, reaching 78.38 per cent. In terms of digital government, 12 out of 15 targets have been achieved, with notable results such as 100 per cent of administrative procedures eligible under the law provided as fully online public services; maintaining 100 per cent of fully online public services integrated and provided on the national public service portal; and 100 per cent of citizens and businesses using online public services are authenticated and verified across all levels of government,

In terms of the digital economy, four out of seven targets have been completed. Highlights include 100 per cent of eligible One Commune, One Product items being listed on e-commerce platforms, and 85 per cent of agricultural production households have an account and a "store" on e-commerce platforms.
For digital society, 13 out of 15 targets have been achieved. Notable results include: 97.5 per cent of the adult population owns a smartphone, with each household having at least one smartphone; 100 per cent of households have fiber-optic broadband internet; and 100 per cent of universities, colleges, and vocational schools have implemented digital transformation.
Currently, the people and businesses of Ba Ria-Vung Tau have become quite familiar with the "BR-VT Smart" app on the Zalo platform. Officially launched in April 2024, this app guides residents and businesses through administrative procedures, and partial or fully online public services provided by the province.
It also offers processes for submitting online applications, tracking the status of applications, and making online payments. As of the end of September 2024, the app has attracted over 97,914 users with nearly 114,257 visits.
In addition, the province has established and maximised the role of community digital technology teams. Currently, there are more than 500 community digital technology teams across the province, with more than 3,000 members. These teams are the core force closely connected to the people, helping them in every village, hamlet, and neighbourhood to access the digital environment, use digital platforms and technologies, and ultimately become digital citizens in the future.
Other sectors such as healthcare, education, transportation, natural resources and environment, tourism, and others have all integrated IT and digital transformation into their operational processes, bringing many conveniences to the public.
Going forward, the province will continue to decisively direct and push the various levels and sectors to successfully implement the digital transformation plans that have been set out.
This is in line with the national digital transformation goal for 2024, which focuses on "Developing the digital economy with four pillars: IT industry, digitalisation of economic sectors, digital governance, and digital data – a crucial driver for rapid and sustainable socioeconomic development."
