The festival is part of activities to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Trang An Landscape Complex, recognised as a world cultural and natural heritage by UNESCO. The highlight of this year’s festival was a dragon procession from Tam Quan Gate in Ninh Binh City to Trang An Wharf and along the Sao Khe River.

At Tam Quan Gate, 200 artists took part in an opening ceremony featuring martial arts and Hue's royal court music, before thousands of locals and visitors joined the dragon procession to a background of folk music.
The music included ethnic arts such as Quan ho (love duet), Nghe Tinh Vi-Giam folk singing, Don Ca Tai Tu Nam Bo (southern amateur traditional music), and Cong chieng Tay Nguyen (Tay Nguyen gongs), with nearly 600 artists and singers performing.

At this year's festival, delegates and tourists participated in crossing more than 5km of waterways, through caves on the Sao Khe River, to celebrate the dragon procession, palanquin procession, water procession, and sacrifices at Suoi Tien Temple, which is dedicated to Saint Quy Minh Dai Vuong. The sacred temple is located upstream of Suoi Tien in the middle of a charming mountainous area.
The annual festival is held to commemorate Saint Quy Minh Dai Vuong, a general under the reign of the 18th Hung King. Saint Quy Minh Dai Vuong contributed to preserving and protecting the nation and assisting in good weather and a prosperous and happy life for people.
Pham Quang Ngoc,Chairman of Ninh Binh People's Committee, said, “Trang An has a vast and unique natural landscape of rolling limestone mountains, forests, vegetation, rice fields, lakes, the Sao Khe River, the Ngo Dong River, and the Voc River, along with a system of caves, including Thien Ha, Thien Thanh, and Tien Ca. Trang An is a remarkably intact chronicle of environmental change and human responses in the distant past.”
