Vingroup will launch four Vsmart phones on December 14

Vinsmart, a member of property and retail conglomerate Vingroup JSC, and leading Spanish technology firm BQ on July 5, 2018 signed a strategic partnership agreement to promote the production of smartphones branded Vsmart in accordance with international standards.

Under the agreement, BQ will sell intellectual property rights to Vinsmart in order to develop two Vsmart branded smartphone products for the high-end and mid-range markets.

Vsmart is manufactured at a factory in the VinFast manufacturing complex located at Dinh Vu, Cat Hai, Haiphong. In less than six months, Vingroup has established VinSmart and set a foot into mobile phone manufacturing. This again shows Vingroup's ambition in universalising its brand across the country in all areas of life.

The factory’s capacity is about five million products per year in the first stage and is certified to achieve ISO 9001: 2015 about quality management.

VinSmart technology is developed on the basis of EU standards. Most of the production, from design, research and development to manufacturing are developed by BQ. With the acquisition of 51 per cent of BQ’s shares, VinSmart can maximise the capacity of the senior Spanish team in product research and development as well as apply new and state-of-the-art technologies.

Beside BQ, VinSmart also works with the world's largest technology companies such as Qualcomm or Google to secure the most advanced technologies in the field of smartphones.

After mobile phones, in the upcoming time, Vsmart factory will produce intelligent electronics like SmartHome and SmartTV products. VinSmart will also approach suppliers of chipsets, domestic and international accessories to directly manage and ensure the quality of smart electronics before launching.

VinSmart plans to develop electronic ecosystems and intelligent technology applying artificial intelligence (AI) through Vsmart, contributing to building a modern life for Vietnamese people.

In addition, Nguyen Viet Quang, vice president cum CEO of Vingroup, shared that Vsmart products will target the mid-price segment.

Quang also added that Vsmart products will be present in smartphone retail channels across the country, even Vinmart+ stores will have booths to sell Vsmart products.

Manufacturing smartphones under the Vsmart brand is part of Vingroup’s strategy to manufacture smart electronic devices.
