The UK continues celebrating successes in healthcare sector in Vietnam

The UK Prime Minister’s Trade Envoy to Vietnam, Mark Garnier, on March 15 visited GSK's warehouse in Ho Chi Minh City during his first official visit to the Southeast Asian nation.

The facility meets the Good Storage Practices (GSP) standards that to ensure and maintain the quality as well as safety of medicines and vaccines according to Vietnam and international quality standards.

Garnier shared: “I would like to congratulate GSK Vietnam on your impressive successes in Viet Nam, on the new legal entity status as a foreign-invested enterprise, as well as your operations of this world-class warehouse. This demonstrates GSK's strong commitment to investing in Vietnam and impacting the health of more than one third of Vietnam's population over the next three years.”

Thanks to the implementation of the UK-Viet Nam Free Trade Agreement (UKVFTA) in 2021, trade collaboration between the two countries is significantly increasing, reflected in more investments from British biopharmaceutical companies, more efforts to support Vietnamese people to have faster access to innovative prevention and treatment solutions.

GSK’s strategy of sustainable healthcare

In a new legal entity launch ceremony last week, GSK Vietnam signed MoUs with the Vietnam Medical Association, National Phytopharma JSC, and Vietnam Vaccine Company, aiming to deliver ambitious targets for a positive impact on the health of 30 million Vietnamese people by 2025.
