In the spirit of "Helping Each Other” which an old Vietnamese custom, charity groups have called for financial support and help from individuals and organisations to build five classrooms (around 30sq.m each) with full educational equipment, 50 sets of tables and chairs, a library, bookcases, and leisure facilities for the students.
At the handing over ceremony, many practical gifts were given to the children. The 170 gift packs for pre-school and elementary school students included books, notebooks, school bags, stationary, blankets, clothes, and many other things, with a total cost of over VND800 million ($35,400).
Also on September 8, 2018 the charity group held medical examinations for all students and handed over textbooks to more than 500 children at Son Binh School in Tam Duong District, Lai Chau province. This year, heavy rains and severe landslides across the country caused heavy damage to many schools, leaving them unusable for the children of the Highlands.
Being deeply aware of the difficulties of Highlands children and their parents, the Royal City and 2F charity groups gathered financial assistance and volunteers to build new schools. This creates opportunities for children to attend school.
Visiting the school, many members of the charity group were moved. Children’s smiles and teachers' shining faces are the most valuable encouragement for the group’s members to continue their efforts towards bettering the lives of vulnerable children in remote areas.
