Phu Yen is drawing up the resources to unleash its tourism industry over the coming year |
In the 2021-2025 period, Phu Yen aims to maintain a tourist growth rate of over 14 per cent per year, of which international arrivals will increase by 15-20 per cent, tourism revenue will increase by over 14 per cent, the average occupancy rate of rooms is about 61 per cent, and the number of direct employees in the tourism sector will grow by an average of 4 per cent per year.
To achieve this goal, Phu Yen Party Committee proposed a solution to focus on planning and mobilising resources for investment in infrastructure and other physical and technical facilities for tourism.
In particular, the province will make detailed planning in a number of key areas such as Xuan Dai Bay, Bai Mon-Mui Dien-Vung Ro, Van Hoa Plateau, perform functional zoning at relics and scenic spots.
Phu Yen Geopark strives to be recognised by UNESCO as a global geopark by 2024, serving as a highlight for tourism development.
In addition, the province will also focus on supporting and removing difficulties and obstacles, creating conditions to promote major tourism projects that have been studied and implemented to be completed and put into operation soon, such as tourism projects in Xuan Dai bay, O Loan lagoon, Da Dia Reef, Ca Pass-Vung Ro, coastal tourism projects in Tuy Hoa city.
A new symbol of Phu Yen tourism is the newly built Nghinh Phong tower along the coast of Tuy Hoa city. The overall design of the square is inspired by Da Dia Reef, creating a modern and monumental beauty of Vietnamese architecture.
Phu Yen is also famous for Bai Mon-Mui Dien, a place that has become popular among tourists located at the easternmost point of the country where the first sunrise appears. Down at the foot of Dai Lanh Cape, Mon Beach has long white smooth beaches and smooth waves throughout the year.
At the southern end of the beach, there is a freshwater stream running down from the mountain. The poetic and charming beauty allures a lot of tourists each year. This is also the place where Phu Yen holds the flag to salute and welcome the first visitors at the beginning of the new year.
