Hanoi People's Committee plans to present 1.1 million gifts worth over $22.4 million to policy beneficiaries and revolutionary contributors for Lunar New Year 2025.

The committee has issued a plan to proffer gifts to policy beneficiaries, revolutionary contributors, retirees, pensioners, poor and near-poor households, social welfare recipients, elderly individuals, civil servants with special hardships, female volunteer veterans facing difficulties, and exemplary organisations and individuals.

The funding will be secured from city, district, and commune-level budgets according to allocated responsibilities, along with other legal fundraising channels. The responsible units must use funds according to regulations, ensure proper targeting, and settle expenses in compliance with the Law on State budget.

The committee has also instructed district and commune branches and relevant unit leaders to leverage additional donations and mobilise resources to provide supplementary support during the Lunar New Year.

The key requirement is to ensure comprehensive and timely support that adheres to current financial regulations while maximising social resources to effectively care for individuals in difficult circumstances, ensuring everyone can enjoy the holiday.

Departments, agencies, the Vietnam Fatherland Front, social organisations, and people's committees will focus on organising visits and gift-giving to ensure strict adherence to policies, accurate targeting, transparency, and democracy.

Hanoi People's Committee has instructed the Vietnam Fatherland Front, city-level political and social organisations, departments, agencies, and district-level authorities to implement the plan. Reports on the results must be submitted to the city's Department of Labour, Invalids, and Social Affairs by January 20, 2025.
