Danang to host Smart City Summit 2019

The outlook vision of Danang

The events include the third Smart City Summit 2019 and the 12^th Japan Information Technology Day 2019 (Japan ICT Day).

According to Danang People's Committee, Smart City Summit is an annual international event held to promote co-operation, sharing the vision, strategy and experience of building smart cities throughout the country, offering solutions for the management, planning, and development of smart cities based on new technology platforms such as IoT, big data, AI, and SMAC.

Smart City Summit 2019 is expected to draw the participation of 600 delegates, including about 200 international delegates, senior leaders of the government, ministries, and central branches of Vietnam, as well as leaders of major cities in Vietnam and the region, and leaders of leading enterprises, technology corporations of Vietnam and the world.

The conference will have four thematic seminars: Managing smart cities based on data analysis; Digital authorities and finance for smart cities; Infrastructure and technology for smart cities; and Smart city applications.

In particular, the Organising Committee is working with the World Smart Sustainable Cities Organization (WeGO) and Asia-Oceania Computing Industry Organization (ASOCIO) to organise the Leadership Conference of Cities within the framework of the summit.

Meanwhile, Japan ICT Day is a co-operative promotion activity for Vietnamese-Japanese IT businesses organised by the Vietnam Software and IT Services Association (VINASA) and the Vietnam-Japan Cooperation Committee (VJC) annually starting from 2007.

Themed "Vietnam-Japan co-operation to promote digital transformation", Japan ICT Day 2019 will see the participation of 350 delegates, nearly 100 of whom will arrive from Japan, centring on three topics: Vietnam-Japan IT co-operation in the new technology trend, developing IT human resources for Vietnam-Japan IT co-operation, and improving the efficiency of software outsourcing.

Danang People's Committee expects Japan ICT Day 2019 to foster Vietnamese-Japanese IT co-operation in Danang and other localities across Vietnam.
