From its inception, Danang Marriott Resort and Spa has embedded sustainability into every aspect of its development. The property prioritises the use of eco-friendly materials, including durable ceramic tiles made from natural, recyclable elements. More than 90 per cent of the resort’s lighting system has been converted to energy-efficient LED technology, significantly reducing power consumption while maintaining a 5-star ambiance.

Further enhancing its environmental credentials, the resort has implemented solar water heating systems and heat pumps, optimising energy use across its facilities. In back-of-house operations, motion-sensor lighting and hands-free basins contribute to resource conservation efforts, demonstrating a commitment to operational efficiency and sustainability.
A key initiative driving the resort’s sustainability agenda is the Evergreen Garden, a 570-square-metre organic farm supplying more than 50 varieties of herbs, fruits, and vegetables to its restaurants. This farm-to-table-to-soil model reduces food miles while utilising fresh, locally sourced produce for guests.
The resort’s culinary team plays a central role in waste reduction, composting food scraps to enrich the garden’s soil. Guests are invited to engage in this process through interactive cooking classes, harvesting ingredients, and preparing authentic Vietnamese dishes using sustainable produce.

To further minimise environmental impact, Danang Marriott Resort and Spa has introduced a comprehensive waste management strategy. Single-use plastics have been phased out in favour of glass water bottles, refillable toiletries, and biodegradable packaging made from rice husks and sugarcane. Additionally, discarded linens from guest rooms are repurposed into aprons and garment covers by the laundry team, aligning with the resort’s zero-waste philosophy.
Beyond environmental sustainability, Danang Marriott Resort and Spa contributes to the local economy by sourcing organic tea, coffee, and artisanal products from Vietnamese farmers. This initiative supports ethical production and provides guests with an authentic cultural experience.
The resort is also engaged in several Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives, including the 'Road to Give' charity run, which raises funds for underprivileged children, and the 'Check Out for Children' initiative in collaboration with UNICEF. These initiatives highlight the resort’s broader commitment to community development alongside its sustainability efforts.
The resort’s dedication to sustainable tourism has been recognised with a Green Globe Certification, an internationally accredited standard for environmental responsibility in the hospitality sector.
As Vietnam’s tourism industry embraces a more sustainable future, Danang Marriott Resort and Spa is well-positioned to lead the shift towards eco-conscious luxury. By integrating green innovations with world-class hospitality, the resort is enhancing guest experiences and contributing to the long-term preservation of Vietnam’s natural landscapes.
