Nine ASEAN countries participated at the eighth online ATSF |
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Tran Viet Ha, deputy head of the International Cooperation Department under Vietnam’s Ministry of Transport (MoT) called it an honour for Vietnam to host this important event. This is an opportunity for countries to share experiences, discuss measures, and programmes in order to strengthen regional cooperation in aviation and maritime research and rescue.
The ATSF forum plays an important role as it helps member countries deal with their own challenges facing in research and rescue activities.

As part of the forum, a draft ASEAN agreement on aviation and maritime research and rescue is discussed, while assessing the implementation process of activities in the ATSF Action Plan.
"We hope that at this forum, countries will closely work and complete the draft agreement so that it can be signed at the 27th ASEAN Transport Ministers Meeting, scheduled to be held this November,” the host noted.
