From September 12-17, the group's retail arm AEON Vietnam also collaborated with the Ministry of Industry and Trade to distribute thousands of essential goods worth VND1 billion ($41,700) to severely affected cities and provinces.
The gift packages included essential food items such as canned goods (meat, fish), ready-to-eat sausages, biscuits, bread, and bottled water. These vital items have helped people overcome this difficult time and gradually stabilise their lives after the disaster.
Furusawa Yasuyuki, executive officer of AEON Co., Ltd (Japan) and general director of AEON Vietnam, stressed, “As a retail business, we not only focus on the products and services we provide to our customers. During times of typhoons, floods, and other natural disasters, we cooperate and join forces with local authorities to help restore people's lives."

Leveraging AEON's experience in disaster response in Japan, AEON will always support local communities during natural disasters. The company actively joins hands in local disaster prevention activities, such as providing emergency supplies, offering its car parks as evacuation areas, and conducting joint emergency drills. Furthermore, the AEON 1% Club Foundation, established in 1990, implements initiatives on "Environmental Preservation", "International Cultural Exchange and Talent Development", and promotion of local culture and society.
AEON Vietnam will continue fulfilling the retailer’s mission as a proactive member of the community, standing by local people wherever AEON is present, even during emergencies.
