Vingroup, with a rich 30-year history, operates across multiple sectors. VinFast, as the heart of Vingroup's industrial and technological activities, is a relatively young player in the electric vehicle (EV) sector, having made significant strides in just five years.
VinFast's commitment to sustainable practices and reducing emissions aligns with Vietnam's COP26 commitments. By 2025, the EV maker aims to have all newly invested replacement buses running on clean energy, making it a pioneer in the Vietnamese market.
Looking ahead to 2030, VinFast plans to have all newly invested replacement taxis running on electricity, solidifying its position as a top electric vehicle manufacturer in not only Vietnam but also in Southeast Asia.
Furthermore, VinFast is set to introduce the Green Smart Mobility EV, a first in ASEAN, which utilises pure electric energy and offers EV rentals.
VinFast's commitment to the EV transition extends beyond its own product line. As part of Vietnam's transportation transformation programme, VinFast supports Decision No. 876/QD-TTg, which outlines the country's goals for sustainable transportation.
A VinFast representative said, "Although we are a young company in the automotive industry, we are fortunate to have the internal drive of the conglomerate, which comes from the support of the Vietnamese government's policies and the collaboration of numerous global strategic partners, including Korean partners, enabling us to become a leading original equipment manufacturer in the electric vehicle segment."
The company is also engaged in fulfilling COP26 commitments, aligning itself with global and Vietnamese leaders in the pursuit of a greener future.
In addition to four-wheel EVs, VinFast also produces electric buses, motorcycles, and bicycles.
The representative outlined the company's plans, saying, "In just a short span of 70 days since our establishment, we completed one million journeys for one million customers and turned five cities green. By the end of 2023, we aim to expand to seven cities in Vietnam."
With its expanding presence, VinFast aims to establish its dominance not only in the Vietnamese market but also on the international stage.
The company has already made significant strides in markets such as the US, Canada, and the EU. VinFast's vision extends to the Southeast Asian market, with plans to tap into this growing region.
Additionally, VinFast is considering venturing into the Korean market, further bolstering its position as a significant player in the EV industry.
