This will be the 14th annual Vietwater exhibitions, Vietnam's premier event for the water supply, sanitation, and purification industry, while WETV 2023 will spotlight waste treatment and environmental tech.
Informa Markets Vietnam has been curating Vietnam's top water industry events for well over a decade and this edition is anticipated to be the biggest yet with more than 450 global names from at least 25 different international markets, drawing over 10,000 specialised attendees. The event will cover the spectrum of water and environment solutions – from urban supply and drainage to agriculture irrigation, underlining the country's progressive stance on sustainable water management.
BT Tee, general manager of Informa Markets Vietnam, said, "We are aware of the importance of water in shaping the strategy of sustainable development. Water is an essential part of the solution to multiple crises, such as climate, biodiversity, inequity, migration, even peace. Technological innovation is our mission as Vietwater brings together the most advanced water and waste treatment solutions from around the world."
The global population reached eight billion people in November last year, and an increasing population brings with it an increasing demand for food and agricultural products. Vietnam, with its strong agricultural sector, plays an important role in global food security, with over 80 per cent of its water resources being used for agriculture.
Additionally, the rapid development of industrial zones and urbanisation opens up high-growth prospects for the water treatment and supply industry. It is forecast that from 2025 to 2030, water consumption in Hanoi will increase by 12 per cent, and Ho Chi Minh City will experience an annual increase of 6-8 per cent.
Informa Markets has been a steadfast champion of the region's water industry for nearly two decades, and it has pioneered several international water exhibitions, including AsiaWater, WaterPhilippines, and Vietwater.
Vietwater 2023 has garnered support from global bodies like the ASEAN US Science and Technology Fellowship Association, Vietnam Water Partnership, and Singapore Water Association, to name a few.
Exhibitors will be showcasing state-of-the-art technologies, including smart water management tools, waste treatment systems, sustainable water tech, and more, over a sprawling 10,000 square-metre space.
The accompanying international conference, themed 'Accelerating On-Demand Innovations for Smart Water Governance', promises to be a melting pot of knowledge, featuring renowned voices from the global water management arena, including Dr. Bach Tan Sinh, Daniel Stork, and many other luminaries.
