Viettel IDC and Saigon Asset Management (SAM) entered into a strategic agreement on January 22 to expand Vietnam's digital infrastructure and market presence.

The partnership is set to enhance data centre capabilities and cloud services for both the Vietnamese and international markets.

With this collaboration, SAM will support Viettel IDC to enhance Vietnam’s digital scene and introduce advanced cloud computing services to support local and international organisations with their computing requirements in Vietnam.

Nguyen Van Thai, deputy director of Viettel IDC, emphasised the company's commitment to innovation and market growth.

"The market expertise SAM brings to the table, combined with Viettel IDC's infrastructure capabilities, is expected to drive significant domestic and international expansion," Thai said.

Meanwhile, Jens Andreassen, SAM's director of Technology Investments, shared his enthusiasm for the joint effort.

"Working with Viettel IDC, the top data centre service provider in Vietnam, aligns with our goal to advance cloud infrastructure in the region. This collaboration will enhance the nation's competitive edge and promote long-term economic and workforce development," Andreassen noted.

Louis Nguyen, chairman and CEO of SAM, expressed confidence in the venture's potential. "This partnership begins a new phase of growth. We're looking forward to showcasing Vietnamese innovation on the global stage and bringing Viettel IDC’s great values to international customers and the regional community," Nguyen said

Currently, multinational corporations operating within Vietnam often rely on overseas cloud providers, leading to service compromises and higher costs.

The collaboration aims to address these issues by developing an offering of scalable computing and storage solutions within the country.

Moreover, products associated with AI, machine learning, data analytics, and the Internet of Things are also integrated into the comprehensive portfolio. This strategy aims to offer customers a one-stop shopping experience, providing them with a diverse range of cutting-edge solutions under a single roof.
