Viatris Vietnam expanding its vision for the good of the healthcare community

Viatris’ most prominent project is Lotus, one of the first innovative drug production technology transfer projects in Vietnam.

The Lotus project was approved by the Ministry of Science and Technology, and the first product from the initiative is Lipitor, which will be available in the near future.

The project is aligned with the Vietnamese government’s vow to promote technology transfer into Vietnam to contribute to self-sufficiency, increased expertise, and hopefully, foster the economy of Vietnam.

Strengthening its commitment to the Vietnamese community, Viatris has been partnering with medical associations and hospitals to conduct telehealth programmes, supporting doctors in rural hospitals with e-learning resources to help them stay up-to-date with medical information to improve their skills and knowledge.

Especially starting in 2022, Viatris has been supporting the Vietnam Heart Association and the Vietnam Interventional Cardiology Association to develop the ScoreVN-OP application, a digital tool that helps doctors holistically analyse and evaluate cardiovascular risk factors, thereby offering appropriate treatment options for each patient.

These supporting activities are also aligned with the policy and direction of the Medical Examination and Treatment Administration under the Ministry of Health.

Viatris also collaborates with national pharmacy chains such as Long Chau FPT and Trung Son to conduct training programmes for thousands of pharmacists in an effort to enhance their consultancy capabilities on non-communicable diseases, increase patients’ access to high-quality prescription medicines, and reduce the healthcare burden on hospitals in Vietnam.

In terms of the company’s involvement in the broader community, we seek to foster health around the world by volunteering our time, resources and talents to organisations that support communities where we live and work. Our community efforts reflect the diverse needs around the globe.

In Vietnam, for example, we have planted trees in Can Gio District and conducted a voluntary blood donation at the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion.
