SCG awards scholarships to deserving students

The 2024 SCG Sharing the Dream initiative is in collaboration with the Central Youth Union and Ho Chi Minh City Student Assistant Centre (SAC).

Marking its 17^th consecutive year, this scholarship scheme reaffirms SCG's unwavering commitment to its environmental, social, and governance (ESG) strategy. The scholarship aligns with the company's ESG-centric vision, aiming to nurture Vietnam's green generation and build a sustainable future by instilling these crucial values in the leaders of tomorrow.

There has been a significant shift in the mindset of the youth as young people are demonstrating heightened awareness of their social responsibility, actively engaging in environmental and social projects to give back to their communities.

In acknowledgment of this, the SCG Sharing the Dream scholarship has advanced beyond providing mere financial support. It now encompasses a comprehensive suite of activities aimed at equipping students with critical ESG knowledge and skills.

One of the main components is the ESG Ambassador competition, which challenges students to create inventive initiatives that benefit their local communities. The competition encourages creativity and problem-solving skills and prompts students to apply their knowledge to real-world issues. The winning team will have the honour of representing Vietnam at the ASEAN regional competition, offering them valuable international exposure.

In addition, the scheme includes interactive workshops led by industry experts, factory tours showcasing sustainable practices in action, and networking events with ESG professionals. These activities are carefully designed to provide students with hands-on experiences and opportunities to shape and develop a sustainable mindset.

This holistic approach is designed to empower students with a strong ESG mindset, enabling them to realise their potential. By investing in their education and promoting a commitment to sustainable practices, SCG is cultivating a new generation of leaders prepared to advance Vietnam’s sustainable development and shape a responsible future.
