The rankings are based on last year’s audited consolidated financial reports of the companies listed on the Vietnam Stock Exchange. To make the List of 50 Best Listed Companies in 2024, companies listed on the domestic exchanges are carefully evaluated.
In the preliminary round, companies need to meet the following conditions: making a profit in 2023, with revenue and capitalisation of at least VND500 billion ($20.85 million). In the next round, companies are quantitatively scored on five criteria including compound growth rate of revenue, profit, return on equity, return on capital, and earnings per share growth from 2019 to 2023.
SABECO is on track to make significant inroads with sustainable development. According to the 2023 Consolidated Financial Report, SABECO recorded $1.27 billion in revenue and $177 million in profit, representing 76 and 74 per cent respectively of the targets set out at the 2023 AGM.
In 2024, the company sets a target of almost 1.4 billion in net revenue, and $190 million in profit in 2024, an increase of 13 and 8 per cent, respectively, compared to 2023. To attain the objectives for 2024, the company is steadfast in reinforcing its three areas of focus such as commercial excellence, supply chain efficiency, and environmental, social, and governance (ESG) criteria.
In the first quarter of 2024, the company recorded a 15.6 per cent increase in revenue, a 2 per cent increase in after-tax profit and completed 22.4 per cent of the profit plan. In the second quarter of 2024, SABECO recorded a revenue equal to 97.3 per cent over the same period, and an increase in after-tax profit of 9 per cent, in which, the gross profit margin improved from 29.9 per cent to 30.2 per cent.
To maintain the domestic market and reach out to the international market; SABECO promotes research and development to improve product quality and launch new product lines.
On August 6, the company launched 333 Pilsner, a lighter and smoother version of the 333 brand. The product is created by Vietnamese brewers who deeply understand Vietnamese tastes, combined with the use of European technology and high-quality imported ingredients.

Elsewhere, on August 16, SABECO revealed it had won big at the 2024 World Beer Awards. It entered four lagers into the competition, and all won prizes.
Bia Lac Viet and Bia Saigon Export were awarded gold medals and recognised as the best of their varieties of Vietnam, while Bia Saigon Export Premium and Bia Saigon Special received silver. Bia Lac Viet was named the "World's Best Light Lager".
This year, thousands of entries were submitted to the World Beer Awards, which are known for celebrating outstanding beers from all over the world.
In June, Kantar's Vietnam Brand Footprint 2024 report also recorded Bia Saigon as the second-most purchased beverage brand in rural Vietnam in 2023.
