Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chinh recently pointed out, while approving a strategy to develop Vietnam's tourism sector, that tourism development is key to the formation of a modern economy.
SABECO actively supports many local tourism projects, bringing the beauty of regional culture and cuisine to domestic and international tourists, and turning Vietnam into a favourite holiday destination in the region.
For instance, at the end of April, SABECO, through its flagship brand Bia Saigon, cooperated with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MoCST) for the 2023 Vietnamese Culture and Culinary Festival.
This was part of SABECO and the MoCST's ongoing strategic partnership to promote the economic recovery of Quang Tri province and Vietnam at large. Bia Saigon not only served as a primary sponsor of the festival, but also engaged and promoted gastronomic experiences and activities for its attendees.
SABECO takes pride in being a partner of this event and as a leading home-grown brand over many decades, Bia Saigon has a natural affinity with Vietnamese culture and cuisine. This event allows us to introduce the exotic and unique specialities of each locality, together with our beers, to domestic and international travellers. |
General director Bennett Neo said, “SABECO takes pride in being a partner of this event and as a leading home-grown brand over many decades, Bia Saigon has a natural affinity with Vietnamese culture and cuisine. This event allows us to introduce the exotic and unique specialities of each locality, together with our beers, to domestic and international travellers.”
Bia Saigon has also been present at the Southern Folk Cake Festival in Can Tho city for two consecutive years, held from April 28 to May 2 this year.
Honouring cultural beauty and promoting tourism development is one of SABECO's sustainable development commitments, and the brewer aims to create positive values for the community and country.
Since the start of the year, SABECO has asserted this commitment through practical activities such as sponsoring last month's send-off ceremony for Vietnam's SEA Games athletes, and encouraging and rewarding Vietnamese athletes who have achieved great things.
At the Glory of Vietnam Sports event, SABECO contributed VND230 million ($9,800) to honour 23 outstanding athletes. This award was part of an initiative organised by the MoCST, the Vietnam Sports Administration, and SABECO to support national sports talent and improve their performances at international sports events.
The Dem Saigon series, organised between Bia Saigon and the Central Committee of Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, promoted the recovery and development of Vietnamese culture, cuisine, sports, and tourism. The scheme returned after the Covid-19 pandemic and was held in rural areas throughout 34 provinces and cities across the country with many exciting and meaningful activities, thereby facilitating thousands of people with lively entertainment.
Last year, the Vietnam Tourism - Culture Festival took place in South Korea on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries. At the event, Bia Saigon introduced its collection of 63 Bia Saigon Lager cans with images featuring the typical cultural beauty of provinces and cities in Vietnam, which received great attention and interest from numerous Vietnamese and international visitors in Korea.
Bia Saigon accompanied and supported the Ok Om Bok Festival and the traditional Ngo Race Boat in Soc Trang province, with the participation of tens of thousands of visitors from all over the country for the fourteenth year in a row, which is recognised as a national cultural heritage event by the MoCST.
SABECO not only contributed to the promotion and preservation of traditional cultural values and a healthy lifestyle through sports activities, but also helped improve the professionalism and quality of the festival overall.
