Quang Khoi is leading the way in digitalising its many healthcare system processes |
Electronic medical software is the target of many hospitals nationwide this decade. In this journey, private-run Quang Khoi General Hospital is now the ninth health facility nationwide to deploy medical e-records, and the first privately-owned hospital in the Northern Central region to successfully implement digital transformation.
After nearly two years of this digital transformation, many favourable conditions have been created for patients at Quang Khoi Hospital, saving time, costs, and human resources while bringing high accuracy, especially in simplifying administrative procedures.
Nguyen Phuong, a resident of Hoang Mai town in the central province of Nghe An, said, “I am very pleased when I visit Quang Khoi Hospital, which boasts very wholehearted and professional doctors and nurses as well as good service quality. Unlike previous years, when I had to bring with me a lot of papers when going for a health check or treatment, I now no longer have to.”
In addition to electronic medical records, Quang Khoi has been investing in developing infrastructure to join telehealth programmes to help patients approach new advanced and efficient treatment modalities from central-level hospitals and those of an international level.
Moreover, the hospital is increasing IT application in medical examination and treatment activities. For example, it launched an online consultation and medical examination app on Zalo, which has proved to be a useful medical channel for people during the pandemic.
The hospital’s ongoing digital transformation strategy continues to facilitate local people and businesses as they look for simple coronavirus testing results and can access e-records at www.hoso.quangkhoi.org, with results then sent to emails, Zalo, or Facebook.
In an effort to develop into an international-standard complex, the hospital leadership has been boosting cooperation with domestic and international partners such as Hanoi-French Hospital, FV Hospital, Hanh Phuc Hospital, Sunway Malaysia Hospital, Makota Malaysia Hospital, and others to learn about and apply their best practices.
Hospital director Dr. Nguyen Hai Linh said, “In the upcoming time, Quang Khoi will continue to invest in infrastructure development and IT application as well as application of AI and robots, while strengthening the training of human resources with the aim of developing the hospital into a reliable and international-level facility.”
For the rest of this decade, the healthcare sector aims for the application of digital technologies in almost all medical examination and treatment activities so as to develop its healthcare, focusing on smart disease prevention, smart medical examination and treatment, and smart health management.
